Her eclectic musical style has earned her the status of a pop superstar. She was fascinated by Spanish folk music when she was just 13 years old. She studied musicology at Catalonia College of Music and also performed at weddings. The album reinvented flamenco by combining it with pop and hip-hop music. Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. Born into a family of no artistic heritage, she is the youngest child of Pilar Tobella, a businesswoman who runs a small family company that specializes in metalwork. Her father, Jose Manuel Vila, was born in Cudillero, Asturias. The couple divorced in the year 2019. The actress is the older sister of Pilar "Pili" Vila (born 1989) who collaborates with Rosalia as her stylist and creative director. Rosalia was interested in performing arts from an early age, particularly when she discovered the discography of Camaron de la Isla. In the Taller de Musics, she started her musical training. She completed a 6-year program at the academy. She started attending classes at the Raval school, later transfering to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia.
